It was lovely to see this, but I don't think it is for Susan Bobbins-Calver. I am a descendant of John Bobbins, Susan's youngest brother, and have long been fascinated by the story of Susan and Bessie. I suspect it is Susan Calver, Thomas's mother, who apparently died 03/02/1871, buried 09/02/1871, probate granted 18/04/1871 first beneficiary being her daughter Jane Calver who was living with Thomas in 1871 census and not thereafter, a second beneficiary being a Henry Blake Miller who I haven't checked out yet. The lower reference is probably to Susan Bobbins/ Thomas Calver's third child Ethel Alice Calver, christened 22/03/1876 and appears on 1881 census as aged 5. If you read what is there as "in her 9th year....1883" it makes sense, no trace of her thereafter. I also have seen a family photo including Clarence Calver and Susan Bobbins/Calver where he is only a couple of years younger than the one you have posted in 1901, so I am sure she (Susan Bobbins) was still alive as late as 1895 or so. There is much more I want to find out, you have my email address if anyone wants to contact me, I may have some bits and pieces to add to your story!

The Cross, a listed Ancient Monument. Is the base of an old Cross situated en route to St Peters Chapel , now disappeared, once located in the field on the left in Cross Lane.

The left hand end of the building was The Infants Room. The centre and right hand end formed The Big Room, and the Juniors were in the centre section, and the Seniors, up to the age of 15, were in the right hand end.
Cloakrooms to hang coats were behind these rooms. The lavatories were outside between the Playing Field and the Playground.
