    Actually Robert and Eleanor were my 4 x grandparents. I would like to know who supplied these photos please, I have a very big Wright tree and have had my dna tested which confirms my link.

    Leo the house in the Docking Road which was the home of Mr and Mrs Blackburn from the late 1940’s.
    This picture shows the house before the electricity and piped water came, and before the kitchen extension was built.

    Mrs Antoinette Symington ran a Red Cross Cadets group in the village for children from the school.They are wearing their uniforms. This must be a craft session but they also did bandaging and learnt first aid skills.

    Leo, in the Docking Road , was the home of Mr Eric Blackburn and his wife Mrs Eva Blackburn.
    It is the home mentioned in the recordings made by Mrs Blackburn where she describes how electricity and piped water came to Stanhoe.
    The kitchen extension on the left was added several years after the electricity and piped water came to Stanhoe.
    As is very obvious the Blackburn’s were keen gardeners, with both a wonderful flower display and a productive vegetable garden, both at the front of the house.
